Historical Trombonist

An alumna of the Royal Academy of Music (UK) and the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis (CH), Emily is enchanted by the rich colour palette of early music, and discovering how this can be brought to life today.

Increasingly in demand as an active soloist, chamber, and orchestral musician, Emily performs with internationally renowned ensembles, including The Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment (UK), Les Cornets Noirs (CH), Weser Renaissance Bremen (DE), Abendmusiken Basel (CH), Ensemble Phoenix Munich (DE), I Fagiolini (UK), Die Freitagsakademie (CH), The Monteverdi String Band (UK), The City Musick (UK), and Le Moment Baroque (CH). As a soloist, she is committed to expressing vocal subtleties, for which she has received international recognition, winning first prize in the British Trombone Society’s Sackbut Competition (UK, 2022) and in Early Music Vancouver’s Emerging Artist Competition (CA, 2023).

She was also awarded the Cambridge Early Music Prize in the final of the York Early Music Festival (UK) alongside her colleagues in Renaissance loud band, Hanse Pfeyfferey (DE). Emily can be heard on numerous CD recordings including with CORO, Naxos, Toccata, Linn, and CPO.
